Vision Therapy Helps Your Eyes and Brain Work Together

Every vision therapy program at Visual Health & Learning Center begins with a thorough developmental vision evaluation. During this examination, our eye doctors determine whether a functional vision problem is present and whether vision therapy is the most appropriate treatment. We proudly serve patients throughout Central Florida, including families seeking vision therapy in East Orlando, Waterford Lakes, and across the greater Orlando region.

Healthy Vision Involves More Than Seeing 20/20

Seeing clearly is only one part of healthy vision. Your eyes must work as a team. They need to focus, track, and process what you see. This supports reading, learning, driving, sports, and daily tasks. These skills can be weak even when a routine eye exam looks normal.

Vision Therapy Helps Improve Many Functional Vision Problems

Functional Vision Problems Can Affect Everyday Activities

Functional vision problems often develop gradually and may go unnoticed during routine eye exams. Many patients are surprised to learn that 20/20 eyesight does not rule out functional vision issues. These problems affect how the visual system processes and interprets information, not just how clearly the eyes can see a chart.

  • Frequent headaches or eye strain during reading or screen time
  • Skipping lines or losing place while reading
  • Double vision or blurred vision at near distances
  • Difficulty concentrating on close-up tasks
  • Poor hand-eye coordination or depth perception
  • Tilting the head or closing one eye to see more clearly
  • Reading below expected level despite normal intelligence
  • Fatigue after short periods of visual work

These symptoms don't always mean vision therapy is needed, but they may indicate that your visual system deserves a closer evaluation. We work with patients from East Orlando, Waterford Lakes, and throughout Central Florida who experience these challenges.
