Many children and adults come to our office after being told their eyes are healthy, yet they continue to struggle with reading, learning, headaches, double vision, dizziness, or other everyday visual challenges. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone. Visual Health & Learning Center was founded on a simple idea: seeing 20/20 doesn't always mean your visual system is working the way it should.
About Visual Health & Learning Center
We Help Patients Find Answers When Routine Eye Exams Don't Explain the Problem
Vision is More Than 20/20 Eyesight
Most people think good vision simply means seeing clearly. In reality, healthy vision depends on many different visual skills working together. Your eyes must be able to:
- Track accurately while reading
- Work together comfortably
- Maintain clear focus
- Process visual information efficiently
These visual skills affect reading, learning, work, sports, driving, balance, and many everyday activities. When one or more of these skills isn't working properly, everyday tasks can become much more difficult—even when your eyesight measures 20/20.
Specialty Vision Care for Children and Adults
Visual Health & Learning Center is a specialty developmental optometry practice. Unlike a general optometry office, we focus on evaluating and treating functional vision problems that affect everyday life. For children, that often means understanding why reading feels difficult, why homework takes so much effort, or why school has become frustrating despite normal eyesight. For adults, it may mean evaluating vision changes following a concussion, stroke, or other neurological condition.
Every Evaluation Begins With Listening
Before we begin testing, we begin by listening. We want to understand:
- What symptoms you're experiencing
- How those symptoms affect your daily life
- What concerns brought you to our office
- What you're hoping to accomplish
Once we understand your concerns, we perform a comprehensive functional vision evaluation to determine how your visual system is working. Afterward, we explain the findings, answer your questions, and recommend the next step based on what we discover.

A Different Approach to Vision Care
One of the things that makes our practice different is the amount of time we spend helping patients understand their vision. Our evaluations are thorough because we aren't simply checking eyesight—we're evaluating how your visual system functions. Every recommendation begins with understanding the cause—not assuming the solution.
Helping You Understand Your Vision Is Our Purpose
Whether you're concerned about your child's reading, recovering from a concussion, experiencing double vision, or simply searching for answers after years of unexplained symptoms, we're here to help you better understand how your visual system works.
